PACKAGING YOUR GRAPHIC NOVEL | the Process
THE CONSULTATION
What kind of comic or graphic novel are you looking for? Are you adapting a game narrative into a webcomic? Are you adapting a novel into a graphic novel?
Who is it for? We want to speak to you as the creator - what do you envision? Do you want a oneshot or a longrunning serial? Do you have any material we can review?
OUR RECOMMENDATIONS
We’ll put together a strategy for your project - what’s the best format for a game to graphic novel adaptation? How can you best reach your audience?
We’ll pull together artists and writers for you to choose from; we’ll review samples and portfolios and allow you to choose the style that fits your vision best.
THE PROJECT
Once we have the greenlight, you can be as involved (or as light touch) as you would like.
Would you like to read each draft of the script? Would you like to see preliminary storyboards? Character art? Or would you prefer to see the finished piece?
WHERE TO NEXT?
What happens to your project when it’s complete?
There are a slate of graphic novel publishers for different formats, but there are also endless resources for independent publishing.
We’ll direct you to the step that suits you best.
THE PITCH PACKAGE
After a consultation, we’ll find the perfect team for your project - this might include a character artist, colorist, background artist and script writer.
With this team in place, we’ll produce a standard graphic novel pitch package, going over everything from character art to story.
With our help, this can be submitted to graphic novel publishers.
THE SPECIAL EDITION
Are you after a special edition volume? Maybe you want to stock it as a collector’s item? Or maybe you just want to release a one-off volume and see how it does?
We’ll discuss your options - we’ll produce the volume, and guide you through independent publishing.
THE DIGITAL RELEASE
Perhaps, rather than traditional publishing, you want to release the comic digitally - and capitalise on the buzz of a webtoon.
We produce the project chapter by chapter; keep an eye on audience engagement, promote, and adjust scripts accordingly.

Initial consultations are free - however, we do charge a small fee for project strategy decks if you decide to book one.
These are the decks we put together for you to review before you give us an official commission. We’ll build this based on all the material you give us.
These decks will show you which team we think are best for your work (with options to choose from!) give you a sense of how your project will look once its finished, our recommendations on promoting it once its out in the world, our format recommendations, and a list of recommended publishers. We’ll include a quote, and budget. Everything you need to know - and approve -before we get to work.
It will also give you the opportunity to decide if you want to keep working with us.
-
We produce everything from manga, webtoons, to cartoony comics. The style is your choice.
-
We don’t produce content with problematic elements - e.g. glorifying abuse, or erotica. We encourage clients to share content warnings in advance.
package FEES
The cost of each package depends on which artists/writers you as the client select.
Do you want a tried and tested manga artist? Would you like your project to be in the style of a webtoon or a traditional graphic novel? Or both? Would you prefer a more cartoon style comic? Would you like to promote your project online once its launched? Would you like us to manage social media promo?
We calculate the total budget using these rates and the size of the project. We’re transparent about budgets from the get go, allowing the client to tailor their choices for the final product.
As standard, we take a 20% fee of the total project budget. This means we handle everything from producing the comic, creating social media assets and managing the freelancers to ensuring on time delivery.
